hunny bunny

i've been dying to make myself this gorgeous bunny from carly schwerdt's blog, moopy and me. i made it using some tweed and linen fabric i have had knocking around in my box. she's going to keep me company as i work today (not sure how long she will last here though, as anya has her eye on her . . . bet hunny bunny will disappear into her den soon!) have a go at making one - it's super easy and very satisfying!

so . . .

back to school tomorrow, which means back to work for me! sewing club and craft club starts again with lots of new children!!! HURRAH! got loads of exciting things for them to do, so watch this space . . .

meanwhile anya has had the paints out and painted (him-in-doors and) me, a lovely picture of herself . . .

this week . . .

phew! it's the easter holidays - hurrah! just spent a few hours in the park with (probably) half the school!! really looking forwards to having some lazy mornings, baking cakes with the kids, reading books and just generally chilling! *smile* we may even eat a few chocolate bunnies!

it was a mad rush at the end of term to get the children to finish all their work at craft club, but we got there! the older class were making keyrings, whilst the little ones were making hand puppets. here are a few for you to see . . . (also one of the girls was taken quite ill and ended up in hospital, so we made her a 'get well card') 

so i'm taking a few (well deserved) weeks off . . . see you in April. xxx

it's mothers day . . .

at Craft Club we have been making gifts for our mums! the children have made some wonderful flower brooches - they were all so amazing. the children learnt running stitch, blanket stitch, sewing on buttons and brooch pins. the messages they wrote were sooooo cute! here are a few for you to see . . .

this week at craft club . . .

we have been doing some fabric printing! . . . can you guess what fruit and vegetables we used? the children ended up with a lovely tote bag!! they were chuffed to bits and it was so much fun to do!

life . . .

yes there are signs of life in my garden! the snowdrops and crocuses are out in full bloom! i do love this time of year - when buds begin to appear . . . a sure sign that winter is being kicked out!! heeeeyaaaa!

flowers . .

this is an order for a lovely lady who wanted a flower for every day of the week . . . had fun making them slowly over the past few weeks - a little bit of 'crochet mediation'! (when you get lost in the hooking, and before you know it another flower is complete)

something pretty

this week is half term so my plan is to 'do lots of fun things' with the kids . . . yesterday we tried to get homework out of the way leaving the rest of the week full of fun! not only that, the horrible (grey) snow has gone and there is a glimmer of sun trying to break through - it's all good. *smile*

also this week i'm designing a prototype softie for the Craft Club to make next week - once I have some photo's i'll post them up . . . watch this space.

we recently did a cushion party for a lovely little girl and her friends! much fun was had and the finished cushions . . . well they speak for themselves!

bbbrrrrrrr . . . .

yes it's cold! freezing infact! I have been making good use of my toft pom pom beanie i knitted over christmas, thats for sure! it's so warm and scrummy . . . definitely recommend it for this weather. had great fun making the pom pom with such a chunky wool! keep warm peeps!!!

hello!

wow we are at 19 Jan already! this month always whizzes by as we have sooo many family birthdays - i am totally 'caked' out! the diet will definitely have to wait until feb!

so what does the new year hold for my sisters and me . . . ? well we are busy with our craft clubs, doing more workshops and parties not to mention all knitting, crocheting and sewing . . . in fact i'm on the look out for yarn for a blanket for my oldest son . . . not sure whether to knit or crochet . . . mmmm . . .

bauble workshop

wow! we had such a great time at the 'make your own bauble' workshop at usurp art gallery on saturday! the children (and adults) had a fantastic time gluing and glittering!! here are some photo's which tell all!

on another note - found this wonderful pattern for a knitted star on the dutch sisters blog. so last night i had a little go at making it . . . it was soo much fun, quick AND easy! this is how far i have got - just need to sew it all up . . .

some girls came to visit us

these gorgeous dolls are made by my super talented niece Sharan (a budding fashion/textile designer). they are totally 'handmade with love' using organic cotton, natural stuffing and vintage fabrics . . . she is taking orders . . you can contact us for more details!

ho ho ho . . .

we are so excited about the new workshop we are running at Usurp Gallery in west harrow on Saturday 26 November for children - young and old! we are running 2 sessions (11-12.30 and 1-2.30) and bookings can now be made on the Usurp website . . . .

we will be using fabrics, sequins, glitter and glue to decorate your bauble - make 1, 2 or even 3 to take home at the end of the session! hope you can make it. x

sock creature workshop

we have been away for quite a while now, but are now BACK! yesterday we delivered our first 'create your own sock creature' workshop at the new crafting venue in pinner LITTLE WILLOWS. it was a massive hit, the children made some really cool creatures! it was sooo much fun! we will be running other workshops there in the new year, so watch this space for more information!

with fathers day coming up this sunday we made a crazy creature for a little girl who had done this gorgeous picture of her dad. isn't he amazing!! i want one too!
