i was drawn to the sun streaming down onto the red hot pokers (which are doing really well this year for some unknown reason!) i love the colours of nature around this time of the year. winter is coming, but the colourful display makes it more bearable. *smile*
actually we started off with this one, so we are going back to it - feeling a bit sentimental in our old age!! work has begun on our website / shop (even though we are on etsy too) it's time to take that leap. so we had a long hard look at ourselves and what we wanted - one of the things was the 'old' logo. hope you like it . . . x
angeli patel is a very talented up and coming illustrator who is studying at Camberwell. she drew this amazing picture of me and gave my sisters and me a plug on her blog. go to her blog and read the full story!
the kids are now back at school, so hopefully we will get back to full speed blogging again! we have had a super busy summer, doing lots of craft fairs. so now it is time to replenish stock and get ready for (dare I say it) christmas!!!
here is the last of our 'freestyle' creatures which sold last weekend at the Harrow in LEAF show.
we have been doing some 'freestyle' sewing!! what does that mean, you ask? well it's just creating a creature with scraps of fabric and seeing what happens . . . it's been fun! here's the first bunny we made, he's called oscar. he used to be part of a pair of tweed trousers!
had a fun few days at duck pond market this weekend. they had a medieval festival there, as well as the normal craft fair. apart from the rain on saturday, it was a good weekend!!
we have mostly been making creatures . . . in preparation for a craft fair on 24th and 25th july at Harrow Arts Centre. so if you are around the area pop in. there will be loads of art activities for kids too. should be a fun filled day.
this one has been designed by my clever son, Arun.
we have just spent a wonderful day attending a course for crafters at ferrers gallerywith the wonderful Rachael Chambers. we learnt alot about being more 'business' minded. as we all know us crafters are hopeless at selling ourselves, so it was a real insight! it was also great to meet some really lovely fellow crafts people.
we have been really busy preparing for a few fairs over the last few weeks, hence the quiet! it's all over now and we did really well, sold loads . . . but now have to start making again!! luckily we LOVE what we do and are excited at making some new things.
we also launched our 'crazy creatures'! custom made creatures, designed by children and made using upcycled fabrics. we will get some photo's up soon!
