Summer Camp - Day Four

was the BEST day. the children did fabric dying and it was sooo much fun! they did tye 'n' dye and dip dying. the photo's speak for themselves i think! kam made the dyes using vegetables - red cabbage, red onion and tumeric - and they worked a treat!

whilst we were waiting for the dyes to work (about 4 hours in buckets, placed in a sunny spot) we made some mice. a lovely lady came in on the monday session and donated loads of bits and pieces, including 16 shoulder pads which we turned into the mice! it was such a fun day!!

Summer Camp - Day Three

we did drawing and painting! we started off by asking the children to do observational drawings of fruits and vegetables, which were then painted using watercolours. in the afternoon we looked at the work of the artist matisse. the children did there own versions of his paper cut out technique using tissue paper. in the last hour we made some tea lights using the leftover pieces of tissue paper . . . a packed day!!

Summer Camp - Day Two

it was printing day! the children were able to do some fabric printing in the morning using wooden blocks and potato's. then in the afternoon they made their own wrapping paper and cards using a polystyrene tile which they had etched with their designs. it was a fun, mad, messy day which we ALL enjoyed. . .

Summer Camp - Day One

on MONDAY we were designing and making our own soft toys. we were fully booked . . . amazing day, amazing results! the kids were fantastic. see the results for yourself . .

SUMMER CAMP

starts tomorrow! had a busy afternoon preping and getting very excited about it all! i will post photo's as and when i get a chance . . . gonna be a busy ole week, so be patient! AND, and, and THE SUN WILL BE SHINING . . . HURRAH! really feels like the summer hols have started. xxx

almost end of term . . .

we are almost there - another week and it will be holidays and then it's the Summer Camp!! hurrah! really looking forward to that week of arty fun!! here are just a small selection of the children's work this term - we made cushions on a jubilee theme . . .

FREE activities!

during half term we ran a veg printing workshop at Little Willows, which was super fun! i've got some photos for you to see . . . but before i reveal those, here's a bit of info for you -

we are running 2 FREE  taster workshops at the Harrow Arts Centre Family Fun Day on Saturday 14th July. you have to call HAC in order to book these (020 8416 8989) . . .

at craft club the older kids made a quick little card out of felt (an idea from here, but we used felt!) . . . have a great weekend and see you next week! x

jubilee weekend . . .

hope you all had a great JUBILEE weekend! now we are back to school and back to work . . . this term at craft club we are making cushions, self portraits and doing a bit of watercolours!! can't wait to get started . . .

pincushion swap

i recently took part in a pincushion swap organsied by house of pinherio. i was paired up with hayley who is a crafter and makes wonderful beads and bag knits, not to mention and all sorts of crafty things! you can see her website here. so i received my pincushion and a gorgeous octopus brooch just the other day . . . i was sooooo excited! happy days! so thanks to hayley and thanks to house of pinherio for organising this! my pincuhion sits happily on my desk! *smile*
