esha and roshan's monsters

we're back!

we have been really busy preparing for a few fairs over the last few weeks, hence the quiet! it's all over now and we did really well, sold loads . . . but now have to start making again!! luckily we LOVE what we do and are excited at making some new things.

we also launched our 'crazy creatures'! custom made creatures, designed by children and made using upcycled fabrics. we will get some photo's up soon!

decided to do a bit of feltmaking this week, starting with these little gems. we love doing these rolls and then cutting them open to find an amazing delight . . . life is good!

duck pond market

hurrah! we did our first ever craft market at the weekend - duck pond market in ruislip. it is a really friendly market, full of lovely sellers who were all so great to us. the weather was amazing which bought everyone out . . . a great, great day!

i didn't get to take many photo's, but here are some of the crochet hair clips and felt flower rings that we had on the stall.

butterflies

we have had a lovely easter break with the kids. the weather has been amazing too!!

in anticipation of summer, we have been working on some butterfly clips. these are knitted and are simply gorgeous! loads of colourways too.

we are working on our web shop too and these will be on etsy soon aswell (all in the pipeline for the next week!!!)

had fun making this card for noah (who is 4!)

that is my son jai being the assistant today.

white and colour

the boys have been making paper aeroplanes, they left them on the table and went off to school. the white on white was refreshing. then i took out my new merino wool. the contrast was stunning. i bought the wool from i knit london yesterday. i spent ages in there. they have an i knit weekender on 10 -11 september - might just pop along there!

they are called glazed carrot 16, bergamota 94, frank ochre 35 and pearl 36 made by malabrigo yarn. i am going to knit them up and felt them . . . can't wait!

just had a wonder around the garden . . . what an up-lifting discovery that the buds are peeking out and the flowers are growing again. I love spring, it really is the best season! it's like you're just waking up, blinking your eyes and seeing everything for the first time . . . makes my spirit soar . . . . .

thought for today

i was just thinking today as i was having breakfast that 'my sisters and me' is not only about my actual sisters. it is also about womanhood too . we are lucky enough to be surrounded by women who form our extended support network - from the mums at the school gates, those who work alongside us, to those who buy our pieces - it's all about you too. i don't want to sound like i'm on the soapbox, but this morning i'm feeling a renewed sense of joy about my SISTERS (perhaps it's because the sun is shining . . .)

my sister sent me this great quote from deepak chopra seven spiritual laws to success so i thought I would share it with everyone else too because it's lovely . . .

oh and the photo was taken in st ives, cornwall - they remind me of my sisters everywhere!

we went to see an exhibition called Beware of Embroidery at PM Gallery and House in ealing. it included the work of Tilleke Schwarz. we really love her work. the embroidery was amazing! the mixture of words and images was inspiring. so if you are in ealing, it's worth going to see it (and it's free!!)

we were asked to make a card for a friends 30th . . . so thought cupcakes were in order. we do love our tea and cupcakes . . . mmmm. just can't get enough of them! so as you can imagine, got a bit carried away with the card making. here are just a few of what was done last night. (oh and that is my arun in the background there - always being helpful!)
